Common Pole Barn Myths
Myth #1: Pole barns are not well insulated.
Quite the opposite! Pole barns have a larger cavity between the support posts compared to wall studs on traditional homes. This allows us to install more insulation, keeping your home toasty warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
Myth #2: Pole barns are not durable enough to last a long time.
Pole barns have been used across the country since the 1930s. They consist of pressure-treated poles driven directly into the ground for a stable, durable building that requires very little maintenance.
Myth #3: I can just purchase a pole barn kit from my local hardware store.
While DIY pole barn kits exist, we don’t recommend using them to build your home. At RT Custom Builds, we pride ourselves on providing great service—including fully assessing the land and using only high quality materials in construction.
